What Makes Open Sports Different

Open Sports x The Hall

As the sole provider of extra-curricular sport at The Hall School, Open Sports has a familiarity and a deep understanding of the boys, families and school environment. This allows Open Sports to personalise the sessions it delivers to best meet the needs and wants of boys at The Hall.

Specialist coaching

Children are coached by individuals who specialise in their sport, ensuring high quality instruction and age appropriate development.

Clear termly plans

Every club follows a structured termly plan, outlining:

  • Key skills and themes for the term

  • Progressive development from week to week

  • A balance of learning, practice and game based sessions

  • Appropriate outcomes for each year group

This ensures sessions are purposeful, consistent and engaging while remaining enjoyable and flexible.

Pupil & parent voice

Club offerings are shaped by pupil interests and pupil plus parent feedback, ensuring what we offer is what the boys want. Open Sports will be present at school council meetings and various other events.

Individual recognition

Each child receives a termly Player Card, highlighting progress, effort and areas for development. Star of the day medals at every club for every session reward boys for displaying STAR habits - with plenty of STAR stickers handed out too!

Transparent communication

Coach profiles and club information are shared with parents, alongside clear communication and reliable points of contact. We want parents to be aware of their boy's progress.

Safeguarded professionalism

All coaches hold enhanced DBS checks, safeguarding training and appropriate insurance. All coaches will be given Open Sports training complete with a code of conduct booklet. Chris MacFarlane is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for Open Sports.
